ACIPC congratulates Dr Amanda Corley, winner of the Seed Research Grant for 2024.
Amanda is an early career researcher (PhD conferred March 2022) with a strong national and international track record in patient-focused clinical and health services research. She has a background in critical care nursing spanning >25 years. Her program of research is focused on maintaining patient safety, with particular research interests in the care of intravascular devices, principally in the ICU, and respiratory management of critically ill patients. Her current role is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with Griffith University and is based at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. As an early career researcher, she has over 90 publications, a h-index of 31 (Google Scholar, August 2024) and had over 4000 citations.
Dr Corley and her co-investigators Emily Larsen, Nicole Marsh, Melissa Bloomer conducted a research project titled: ‘Vascular haemodialysis catheters in the intensive care: a survey of bedside
maintenance practices to address high infection rates and catheter failure.’
