NSQHS Guide for Ambulance Health Services released

The National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards for Ambulance Health Services (The Guide) has been published on the Commission’s website.

The Guide was developed with a broad range of industry experts to interpret the NSQHS Standards for ambulance health services implementing the NSQHS Standards. ACIPC IPC Consultant Carrie Spinks was among those who participated in this process.

The Guide provides examples of strategies and evidence to support ambulance health services understanding of the intent and requirements of the NSQHS Standards and includes sections addressing the Preventing and Controlling Infections Standard:

  • Clinical governance and quality improvement systems
  • Infection prevention and control systems
  • Reprocessing of reusable equipment and devices
