Hi, I can confirm out RACF wears N95 masks all the time, this is because where we are there is alot of community transmission, staff have children at school where there is ongoing transmission, we have been wearing them for months, no end in sight at this point. It has kept our facility reasonably free of Covid. At this point visitors are also wearing N95 while high community transmission, this is continually reviewed.

    Hi All,

I am the Facility Manager of an Aged Care Facility in Port Macquarie.
The Department of Health have recently had a webinar in which they have recommended staff wear the P2/N95 mask for 28 day after a COVID outbreak ends.
I would like to know form the experts among us what you would recommend.
As you can imagine this seems extreme and would be a considerable burden on our staff.

Hi all, these surgical gowns are what my aged care facility has been sent as well, we have used these in outbreaks at sister sites as well, Im not a fan of how much packaging rubbish there is , and that they tie up at the side , but staff think they are better in terms of not sweating as much like the other gowns , but they are just as protective as isolation gowns.

I have a question. I am currently overlooking at a regional campus as a IPCC. Currently, the aged care is in lockdown due to Covid19 outbreak.

I have a question about the PPE gowns that are used. The facility is supplied with surgical gowns as isolation gowns. My question is are the surgical gowns used as isolation gowns if there is no supply?

I have attached the pictures for view.

That’s correct as of 1st July last year it was mandatory that all vaccinations be entered into AIR this includes any staff and patient vaccinations given within a healthcare facility.
