    Please see below an invitation to attend a symposium on Tuesday, 1 March, Lessons learnt from COVID: Guiding pandemic preparedness and response, presented by the Australian Institute of Infectious Disease, and supported by the Australian-French Association for French and Australian Research.

    The event will feature keynotes from two Nobel Laureates:

    *Professor Francoise Barre-Sinoussi, Emeritus Professor at the Institut Pasteur and Emeritus Director of Research at the Inserm Lessons from HIV: strengths and weaknesses in the response to COVID-19
    *Professor Peter Doherty, Patron and namesake of the Doherty Institute The challenges of science communications in COVID times

    In addition:

    *The Victorian Minister for Innovation, Medical Research and the Digital Economy, the Honourable Jaala Pulford, will provide the welcome address
    *Professor Sharon Lewin, Director of the Doherty Institute, will speak to Looking to the future: lessons learnt and new global approaches
    *Professor Brendan Crabb, CEO and Director of the Burnet Institute, will provide the summation and closing remarks
    *Professors Barre-Sinoussi, Doherty, Lewin and Crabb will participate in an interactive panel discussion titled: Are we ready for the next pandemic?
    *Plus a full program of speakers final program will be distributed on Monday morning.
