    Hi Natasha
For IFC purposes we have a policy of no residents brining in pillows. We provide vinyl covered (sealed pillows) that can be cleaned.
Tri pillows are an issue they are so comfortable for residents. We don’t have covers for them but discard if stained and when a resident is deceased. They are inexpensive for their value and comfort.
We also use the long body pillows for bed bound residents. These are purchase with a water proof zip cover that can be cleaned.
    Hope this is helpful

    Hi All,

I am seeking advice regarding residents within our aged care areas with pillows that are not hospital provided. A percentage of residents have asked to bring in their own pillows including the bamboo and memory foam.

    My areas of concern include:

    * cleaning requirements of a home pillow Vs hospital pillow (that can be wiped down after use)

    * if plastic covers are available for standard and tri-shaped pillows

    * is there a limit of how old the pillow can be- eg. <12 months, with no visible stains

    Kind regards,
