Dear Pamela etc – re the 2 in one wipes. Please ensure staff know to remove
all visible soil first before expecting such a wipe to disinfect – most
disinfectants are inactivated by organic soil so this requires removal prior
to disinfection. Additionally, different pathogens require different wet
contact times for inactivation ie norovirus vs Staph are quite different.
This contact info is on the manufacturer’s specificationsIf cleaning only is required then I would suggest only use of a detergent
wipe rather than applying a multi – chemical wipe. I understand wipes are
for spot cleaning so again not sure what size areas you are wanting to use a
wipe forRegards,
Margaret Jennings

Good morning,
We are trialling microfiber and the company recommends not using detergent
disinfectant with the mop heads.I was wondering what other hospitals using the microfiber are doing in
regards to cleaning:*MRO – isolation rooms
*Bathroom floors
*Clinical floorsI would appreciate any feedback.
Kind regards,
Pam
