Wash your hands with soap and water after toileting, eating or smoking

Does anyone have a poster they are willing to share, to prompt visitors and staff to use Hand rub before entering facility ?

Hi Sue,
Our staff and patient dishwashers are separated. One of our areas recently wanted to stop using disposable water cups for patients and wash the patient cups in the staff dishwasher. This was not approved as the staff dishwasher does not meet time and temp requirements and is not monitored.

Staff cannot wash dishes in the commercial (patient ) dishwashers and vice versa.

Some staff rooms have a commercial dishwashers because although pricey to buy last much longer and have short cycles. The patient dishes are not put into these.

Our patient dishwashers are monitored for temp and time and are commercial. Our ward support staff manage the loading and unloading of these .

Dear colleagues,

Does anyone have a commercial dishwasher in the clinical ward areas for use by patients’ and staff?

If so, how is the process managed to ensure patient and staff safety.
