    Hi Sue,

We are the same as Amanda at Bendigo, Infection Control manages all exposures during normal business hours and the ED/Urgent Care doctor after hours.
We are notified and do the follow up with the staff member and the patient.

    Subject: [ACIPC_Infexion_Connexion] Occupational Exposures

    Hi all,
I am hoping that you might be able to assist me. We are currently revising the model in which my health service currently manages occupaitonal exposures. The current model involves the recipient of an exposure visiting the emergency department for assessment. Infection prevention and control (IPAC) will then complete all followup. The model we are considering is a ‘nurse led’ occupational exposure management program based within IPAC.
I am wondering what models other health facilities currently work (success of same) with to manage occupational exposures and if you would be willing to share that information.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi everyone

I have a very keen medical officer who wants to be a champion for improving IV cannula insertion. Does anyone have an observational audit tool they would like to share?

I have an observational audit tool for aseptic technique wound dressing I would be willing to swap for IV cannula insertion!

    Thanks

I would like to know if any members have placed their alcohol based hand
rubs in public areas such as near lifts, entrances etc in their
    hospitals.
If so where have you put it and what form has this taken (bracket on
wall, hand hygiene station etc) and have you had any issues with this.
