Workstations or computers on wheels at the bedside

Dear Colleagues,
We will be introducing electronic patient records at Western Health and I have been looking at workstations or computers on wheels (WOWs). I would like to pose some questions to everyone about practices on the use of these during transmission based precautions (TBP). We all know the obvious that they should be cleaned in between use however:

* are these allowed in the patients’ rooms during TBP, especially contact precautions? or

* kept outside and a tablet used in the room? and/or

* have fixed computers in specific isolation rooms?

Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks
