It is with much sadness that I inform you of the passing of Joy Grinter yesterday.
Joy has been friend, leader, mentor, colleague and a significant person to many of us in the Infection Control field in Victoria and particularly the Hume Region for many years.

Joy has been in Infection Control since 1987, when she commenced as a sole practitioner at the Wangaratta District Base Hospital before joining the team at Barwon Health (Geelong) and most recently as a regional consultant with the HRICRCS program in Northeast Victoria. Joy was well known in the VICPA and AICA communities and rarely missed a state or national conference. She was also a founding member of the RICPRAC group.
Joy had a particular passion for supporting the development of novices and was affectionately known by many of us as the guru and she has had an enduring influence on the careers of many including myself.
