    Morning,

Just looking for information in regards to Surgical hand antisepsis.

Currently for the first scrub of the day, we are using a antimicrobial agent including cleaning finger nails with nail cleaner.
Than for every subsequent scrub we are using alcohol surgical hand rub solution.

ACORN standards state that antimicrobial surgical hand scrub agents and alcohol base surgical hand rub agents should not be combined sequentially.

Should we be just using a non-antimicrobial soap before alcohol base hand rub for first scrub of the day or continue as mention above?

Any recommendations from other hospital muchly appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Helen
