    Dear ACIPC

I have read a number of notifications from the Department of Health, who are still advocating wiping surfaces with detergent wipes.

However, it appears from reading some of the feeds from the ACIPC, this may not be enough to ensure the virus is inactivated on an inanimate surface, considering the length of time the virus can survive?

Would the group members recommend using a 70% ethanol alcohol preparation or Isopropyl alcohol for routine surface cleaning or a sodium hypochlorite-based product in theatre and patient care areas?

    Regards
