Good morning everyone
We have a small challenging issue in our operating theatre sterile stock area.
The sterile stock area has double glazed windows with inserted blinds. We are insisting on keeping the blinds closed but staff want the sunlight.
AS4197 states that we keep sterile RMDs away from excessive sunlight.Question – how much is excessive?
Thank you

Hi Everyone,
There are two issues with sunlight exposure – one is the impact of UV
radiation causing packaging deterioration; the second is the impact on
localised ambient temperature in the sunlight affected areas that may result
in a package ‘sweating’.Almost impossible to quantify I’m afraid. Can there be some sort of
compromise – i.e. half blockout the windows so the sun come in at the top so
it can be seen by the team but the stock is protected?Kind Regards
