Hi everyone,
I’m wondering if anyone has any information or anything concrete in regards to storage of semi critical devices in the general ward setting. Most guidelines refer to CSSD and reprocessing of reusable items. I have referred to the Australian Guidelines for the Prevention and Control of Infection in Healthcare, AS/NZ standard and the Australasian HCF guidelines and believe our HCF meets these standards but interested if there are more specific guidelines in place for individual departments.
Kind Regards, Mandy

Hi Mandy,
I believe Table 5.1 in AS/NZS4187:2014 covers off the most significant
requirement re storage of reprocessed medical devices. For semi critical
items it states “Store to protect from environmental contamination in a
designated storage area to protect RMD.”Kind Regards
