    Hi

We are commencing a pre-operative Staph aureus (not just MRSA) decolonisation protocol prior to cardiothoracic surgery in a bid to reduce surgical site infections with Staph aureus.

For those facilities performing cardiothoracic surgery, how many other facilities have a process in place for pre-operative decolonisation of Staph aureus?

I would welcome any replies to the list or emailed privately, or even any discussion on the value of such a protocol if it has been considered and not supported.

    Thanks
    Michael
