Hi all – I have just been informed by the staff in the ortho theatre the
surgeons are now starting their skin prep from the foot, then going up
to the thigh and lastly doing the actual knee area. They have “declined”
the offer to another prep sponge to do the knee area. I was just
wondering if this is the “normal” practice
    Thankyou

    Hi Jenny,

I see all sorts of weird and wonderful skin prep techniques – most of which
are not conistent with recommended practices.

Can I suggest you make reference to the ACORN 2014 Guidelines for skin
preparation and perhaps make information on correct skin preparation
techniques HIGHLY visible somewhere in the tea room or on the back of the
    toilet door!

    Regards
