HI All,
I have reviewed the “engineering down the risk” document, but am unable to find a suitable answer to our issue. Is anyone aware of guidelines/standards related to shared bathrooms, in particular the requirements for “hospital grade” toilets including cisterns, the maintenance of such, and/or ventilation of such bathrooms?
Regards,
Anne Britton

Hi Anne,
For ventilation information, try the NSW Health Engineering Services And
Sustainable Development Guidelines Technical Series TS11.
It’s a reference document of the Australasian Heathcare Facility Guidelines
and can be accessed through the Aus HFG website

Hi Anne,
Please refer to AS 1668.2:2012 The use of ventilation and airconditioning in
buildings Part 2: Mechanical ventilation in buildings for specifications on
ventilation in specific areas. You should also make reference to the Australasian Health Facility Design
Guidelines available via the link below. I haven’t checked to see if there
are actual specifications for toilets in there – but there are drawings and
bathroom layouts etchttp://www.healthfacilityguidelines.com.au/default.aspx
I hope this helps.
