Hi all
Just a reminder to ensure you include your full name, professional designation (eg ICP, microbiologist, ID physician, epidemiologist) and place of work / company affiliation in each message sent to Infexion Connexion. The Moderator will try to ensure these details are present before approving messages to the list, and will generally send any messages back to the sender for re-submission if they do not include these details, but will sometimes slip up! It is annoying to have to be requested to resend a message to include these details (and annoying for the Moderator to have to ask). It is also frustrating to not understand the context in which a comment has been made.
It is important to include these details so other subscribers can see the professional and socio-political context in which your message has been created. You cannot assume that everyone will know who ‘Michael” is and where they practice! Including information about your job title and place of work can help others understand what context you currently practice in. Signature blocks usually include enough detail to assist with this. Private infection control consultants and educators should identify themselves as such, and including practice scope (eg aged care, acute private sector, geographic coverage) can also be useful.
For those sending messages from non-work email addresses, or using web-based email programs, be aware your normal work signature block will not always be attached to the these messages. You will then need to include identifying information as required.
Thanks for your compliance with this important ACIPC requirement for use of Infexion Connexion. Please direct any comments about this policy to aicalist-requests@aicalist.org.au
Cheers
