    Dear Colleague

Please find attached a letter from the Chief Health Officer and the AMR Secretariat at the Department for your awareness and action.

The letter introduces a new guideline for Victorian health services, both public and private, for the multi-drug resistant organism Candida auris. There are a number of actions recommended to be prepared to respond to a case and a focus on actions required should a case arise in your health service. A website link is included in the letter (https://www2.health.vic.gov.au/infection-control) which demonstrates a range of guidelines of interest, and includes a tab for this new guideline and associated supporting documentation for health services.

Please disseminate this information to all relevant parties within your service. Queries can be directed to AMR.Secretariat@dhhs.vic.gov.au
