This project has been approved for distribution by the ACIPC Research Committee as per ACIPC Research Access Scheme Guidelines
Dear Colleagues,
Infection Connexion subscribers are warmly invited to participate in a 15-minute online survey to share their views on what PPE they think is appropriate (i.e. safe and practicable) for routine use by Emergency Department (ED) staff caring for patients with unknown infectious risks. The survey was created in partnership with infection control experts, infectious disease physicians and ED clinicians.
The survey questions are based on short video clips of clinicians demonstrating donning/doffing procedures for two clinical scenarios according to NHMRC guidelines, which not everyone finds practicable or necessary. With your help, we hope to develop consensus recommendations for baseline appropriate PPE adherence for ED staff. This study is led by Prof Lyn Gilbert from The University of Sydney, and has been approved by the Western Sydney Local Health District human research ethics committee, and the ACIPC research committee.
The survey can be found here: https://goo.gl/EGF7py (closing date: 31 August 2017).
Thank you for your participation and support.
Apologies for cross-posting – you may receive this direct from ACIPC or ASID as well
Best wishes
Professor Lyn Gilbert
