Dear colleagues,
Although moving away from the Australasian Healthcare Facility Design guidelines for clinical sink placement, has anyone considered moving towards a waterless patient room model by removing the sinks in the patient bedrooms?
The patients would still have access to a hand basin in the bathroom.
We are interested to know if other facilities have considered this option and if so, your experience/advice – in particular if there are any issues to consider (with the exception of hand hygiene compliance).
Many thanks.
