    Hi Lindy
No we don’t drape here at all. In my previous role working in orthopaedics many years ago this was a common practice and it was a surgeon preference for this to be done. At times the drapes did fall off if the pt needed to get up to toilet.
What we still do is patients will have a antimicrobial body wash / shower pre op.

    Hello

Can I ask you to vote yes or no

    Orthopaedic Joint Implant surgery:
Does you facility still apply betadine and then a drape around the limb pre operatively (in the ward or pre-admission clinic) to each patient

it is not in the WHO SSI reduction bundle recommendations & I can’t find any literature indicating this practice is evidenced based or an old ritual so wondering what you are all doing currently

    Thanks

    Lindy
