Hi Kenny,
Is it special, additional COVID processes for COVID that you are struggling with?
We had put additional decontamination processes in place over the last two years. As we have all learned more about covid transmission, we have now realised it was too complicated and unnecessary. We are now focusing on PPE, ventilation and airflow to reduce risk to staff and sequential patients.
We are following standard procedures for instruments used on covid patients – no special or additional requirements.
Terminal clean of theatre – two step clean with detergent and then disinfectant (hypochlorite) focussing on high touch surfaces.
We have removed clutter and ensure only essential equipment is in the theatre.
These concepts consistent with WHO guidance: https://apps.who.int/iris/bitstream/handle/10665/332879/WHO-2019-nCoV-IPC-2020.4-eng.pdf
Kind regards
