    Hi Carla , the “Gold Standard” for cleaning and decontamination are the manufacturers’ recommendation found in the Instructions for Use . This would be best practice as required by NSQHS 3.14 and AS4187 ( All reusable devices ). On the flip side, overzealous cleaning and decontamination can and does damage these devices and their accessories ( also reusable devices ) in some cases costing hospitals $ 1000’s. I have attached 2 of the many recalls which have come out this year highlighting these issues.
