Hi all – I am posting this for a member working in a Residential Aged Care Facility.

If any members can advise on the following can you please contact our colleague Nola directly?

    Nola’s email is – nolabeatty@bigpond.com

    From Nola:

Do ACIPC members have advice / guidance on best practice for connecting the night bag in an aged care setting?

The organisation I work for say the leg bag is to be disconnected from the catheter at night and then the night bag connected straight to the catheter.

The leg bag is left in the bathroom overnight and then reconnected to the catheter the next morning when the night bag is removed.

This is to be attended with a no touch technique and the lid off the night bag is put on the leg bag for the night.

Is this correct or can anyone advise on the best practice for this scenario?
