Dear Colleagues,
If a Melbourne aged care facility under stage 4 has no suspect or confirmed
cases, I ask can a resident be taken around the block either with a walker
or in a chair by a staff with both wearing masks and for less than an hour?
I am finding very little written that includes what the resident can do –
everything is about visitors and staff and the legislation either does not
refer to this or is difficult to decipher imhoI cannot see that the resident in such a facility has any less rights than
any other resident of Melbourne not in isolation or quarantine. If I am
correct then I am concerned that facilities and residents are not taking
advantage of this for mental and physical wellbeing. Can anyone see in the fine print that if there are no confirmed or suspect
cases that a resident can leave for exercise with a carer or alone if able?Regards,
Margaret Jennings
