    Good afternoon,

I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of a policy / procedure for the frequency of changing sand that is used for children as part of OT / therapy type sessions.
If the sand becomes contaminated at any time, it is changed. And children do hand hygiene before using it. Just wondering if there was some policy to refer to for general change frequency?

    Kind Regards,

    Stacie Desmond

    Hello Stacey

The NHMRC 5th edition Staying Healthy preventing infectious disease in early childhood education and care services (2013) provide guidance in relation to the management of sandpits which may be helpful. It is currently under review.
