Hi all
Hand rails in showers and bathrooms pose a risk if slippery with soap / lather / water whereby patients can grab the rail to steady themselves, only to have their hand slip, which may then result in a fall. We are wondering if any sites have used non slip grips on any rails, and is this a concern from infection point of view as the grip can trap soil build up, bacteria etc.
I am erring on the side of IP&C caution here and feel that addition of these will be an IP&C risk, and should not be used.
Looking for input,
Kind Regards,
