    The issue of proper storage of clean linen is addressed in the AS/NZS 4146:2000Australian/New Zealand Standard, point 2.6.1, page 21 which states:Cleaned linen should be stored in a clean, dry place in a manner that
    (a) is distinctly separated from soiled linen;
    (b) prevents contamination (e.g. by aerosols, dust, moisture and vermin); and
    (c) allows stock rotation, so that the oldest stock may be used first.
    Laundered linen should be stored on clean shelves and, if necessary, wrapped in a protective covering.

    However, with reference to American National Standard Institute (ANSI)/Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) ST65:2008: Processing of reusable surgical textiles for use in health care facilities. Alexandria VA; AAMI: 2009. point 9.6.1, recommended practices are recommended as follows: Textile packs should be stored at 8 to 10 inches from the floor, at least 18 inches from the ceiling, and at least 2 inches from the outside walls.

    Hence, we would like to know, whether the prevailing practices for linen storage in AUS would follow AAMI recommended practices.
