Hi AICA List members,
I have always been used to the practice of dedicated orthopaedic
operating theatres (especially for joint replacement surgery with lamina
flow and hepa filtration) but have recently been challenged on the
evidence for this. I would like to know what other facilities do for
this type of surgery e.g. dedicated versus shared theatres.If you have a shared system would you have a colorectal list performed
in the theatre for the morning and then use it for joint replacement
surgery in the afternoon?I would appreciate your opinions and any references you may have to back
this up especially if you do not use a dedicated theatre.Kind Regards,
