Obituary: Dr Joan Gardner

Many ICP’s would be familiar with the textbook co-authored by Dr Joan Gardner (Sterilisation, Disinfection & Infection Control by Garner and Peel).

Others may be familiar with her involvement in education within the fields of infection control and sterilisation technology.

Sadly, Dr Gardner passed away on 19th November 2013 at the age of 95. An Obituary appeared in today’s The Age in Melbourne tiled “leader in the fight against infection”, written by her co-author Dr Margaret Peel, and it can be accessed by the link below.

It is great to recognise Dr Gardner’s achievements as a pioneer in infection control and prevention and sterilisation technology.
