New national post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) guidelines for exposure to HIV
The updated guidelines combine non-occupational and occupational HIV exposure in a single document for the first time. The new guidelines also contain a checklist for use in clinical settings as part of the update. These guidelines were produced by ASHM with funding from the Australian Department of Health, in consultation with clinical experts, sector organisations and jurisdictional representatives. They have been endorsed by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.

The National Guidelines and Checklist are located online at http://www.ashm.org.au/pep-guidelines . A literature review, supporting the Guidelines, including other documents, is also available online.
