To coincide with this years Antibiotic Awareness Week (18th to 24th November), we are pleased to announce that the National Antimicrobial Prescribing Survey (NAPS) will again be made available.
We are hoping as many facilities as possible will join in this rewarding exercise and are currently recruiting hospitals to give them enough time to organise staff and resources. Last year there were 85 facilities involved from every state and territory.
Registration is open to all Australian healthcare facilities and we will again return data as individual reports and spread sheets to all those who participate. This year we are happy to announce we will also be providing benchmarking data. Formal registration will be through the NAPS website which is currently being constructed and will be open from early November, website details to be made available shortly.
The NAPS continues to be coordinated by the Melbourne Health NH&MRC Antimicrobial Stewardship research team and is also supported by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care.
To register interest and be placed on our email list, or further information or any queries regarding the 2013 NAPS, please feel free to contact Dr Rod James (rod.james@mh.org.au).Kind regards,
The NAPS coordinating team.
