How many facilities actively look for and manage Multiresistant
Pseudomonas aeruginosa (MRPA) with contact precautions in their
facilities? If you do, a couple of questions:
1. How do you define MRPA? By antibiotic sensitivity? Resistant to which
classes of antibiotic? Only when MBL positive?2. Do you alert patients with MRPA for screening on future admissions?
What clearance requirements do you use to remove alerts?3. Do you use contact precautions for patients with MRPA in all
wards/units, or only specific ones?We are reviewing our definition and management of MRPA due to increased
detection of these according to our current definition (resistant to
carbapenems). Any comments would be appreciated.Cheers
