Hello Brains Trust
I recall several years ago, or maybe more, instrument milk wasnt recommended when manually cleaning surgical instruments.
Does anyone have a reliable source or guide I can refer to?

Hi Carol,
It wasn’t that you couldn’t use it, it was a combination of things such as whether the RMD manufacturer had said you should use it, whether the milk was compatible with the RMD and the sterilisation process and lastly the issueof the terrible practise that was keeping the milk in a bath for a week and dunking trays of RMDs in it.
Lubrication of RMDs is an acceptable practice however it must be completed in accordance with RMD manufacturer’s IFU.
