Launch of new Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Care Standard your invitation
As World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) draws to a close today, the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care is marking the occasion with the release of the 2020 Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Care Standard.
The Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Care Standard was first published in 2014 and describes the care that should be provided to patients with an infection, or at risk of infection. Following a comprehensive review, the updated standard includes strengthened recommendations regarding surgical prophylaxis and a new statement about assessing adverse reactions to antimicrobials (including allergies).
