    I invite you to join APIC in engaging patients, families, and healthcare personnel in infection prevention.

    The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) invites you to join with us to promote the role that we all play in infection prevention.

    This year, we’re marking International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW), October 20-26, by launching a multiyear campaign-themed “Infection Prevention and You” [ http://apic.informz.net/z/cjUucD9taT0yNjg5MzA4JnA9MSZ1PTgxODE5MTM5MiZsaT0xNDM4Nzc3MA/index.html ]-focusing on engaging everyone in infection prevention-patients, families, and healthcare personnel.

    To kick off the campaign, APIC has created a robust website [http://apic.informz.net/z/cjUucD9taT0yNjg5MzA4JnA9MSZ1PTgxODE5MTM5MiZsaT0xNDM4Nzc3MA/index.html] with tips, checklists, and other resources to download and share, including an infographic poster [ http://apic.informz.net/z/cjUucD9taT0yNjg5MzA4JnA9MSZ1PTgxODE5MTM5MiZsaT0xNDM4Nzc3MQ/index.html ] that clearly and simply outlines the steps that patients can take to support infection prevention efforts in healthcare facilities and reduce their risk of infection.

    We hope you will consider partnering with us to expand the reach of the “Infection Prevention and You” messages by sharing this information with your audiences. We’ve developed ready-to-use materials to help you spread the “infection prevention” message, including:
    * Infection prevention infographic poster [ http://apic.informz.net/z/cjUucD9taT0yNjg5MzA4JnA9MSZ1PTgxODE5MTM5MiZsaT0xNDM4Nzc3MQ/index.html ]
    * Promotional materials [ http://apic.informz.net/z/cjUucD9taT0yNjg5MzA4JnA9MSZ1PTgxODE5MTM5MiZsaT0xNDM4Nzc3Mg/index.html ] including newsletter copy, sample press release, and sample social media posts [ http://apic.informz.net/z/cjUucD9taT0yNjg5MzA4JnA9MSZ1PTgxODE5MTM5MiZsaT0xNDM4Nzc3Mw/index.html ]
    * Logos and web buttons [ http://apic.informz.net/z/cjUucD9taT0yNjg5MzA4JnA9MSZ1PTgxODE5MTM5MiZsaT0xNDM4Nzc3NA/index.html ]

    In addition, we invite you to attend a free webinar hosted by APIC on October 22, featuring global hand hygiene expert, Prof. Didier Pittet, of the University of Geneva Hospitals. [ http://apic.informz.net/z/cjUucD9taT0yNjg5MzA4JnA9MSZ1PTgxODE5MTM5MiZsaT0xNDM4Nzc3NQ/index.html ]

    And make sure to Like us on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/APICInfectionPreventionandYou

    Thank you for joining APIC as we spread the message about everyone’s role in preventing infection. We hope you will put these new resources to good use and actively promote infection prevention to others via your newsletter and social media channels. Thank you in advance for your support.
    Sincerely,

    Katrina Crist, MBA
    Chief Executive Officer
    Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC)
