INFECTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL CO-ORDINATOR
Arcadia Health Care, Sydney, North Shore & Northern BeachesWe are seeking a highly motivated Infection Prevention and Control Co-ordinator to join our
outstanding team.* Work Type: Part-time.
* Remuneration: Negotiable, based on experience level and relevant qualifications
* Hours Per Week: 2 – 3 days per week will be considered for the right candidate. Additional clerical
hours are allocated each week to support the role.About Arcadia Pittwater Private Hospital:
Arcadia Pittwater Private Hospital is an 85 bed Medical and Rehabilitation Private Hospital in
Warriewood Sydney. Opening in February 2018, it has set the benchmark in terms of facilities,
services and care.As an Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator your responsibilities will include:
* Coordinating, monitoring and managing the implementation of current Infection Prevention and
Control Standards, procedures and practices
* Working with the Executive, VMO, managers and members of the multidisciplinary teams
* Participating in relevant committees
* Demonstrating proficiency in clinical risk assessment and decision making in relation to
transmission of infectious diseases
* Collecting, collating and analysing identified statistical data and trends
* Complying with relevant legislative requirements.
* Policy review and development, staff education and adverse incident reporting and investigations.
* Manage the Anti-Microbial Stewardship and Hand Hygiene programs including training of staff
and reporting of data
* Implementing and maintaining a Staff Health Program (vaccination and screening)
* Compliance with ACSQHC National standards
Essential Criteria:
* Current Registration with AHPRA
* Minimum 4 years Post Graduate Experience
* Certificate or Diploma of Infection Prevention and Control (or willing to work towards
achievement)
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of NSQHSS Standard 3
* Good clinical decision making and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work collegially with department managers
* Ability to work autonomously and within multi-disciplinary teams
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficient computer skills
* Ability to write reports and collate and analyse statistical information
* Ability to assess and implement change as identified
* Professional development in Infection Prevention and Control
* Gold Standard Auditor for National Hand Hygiene Initiative (NHHI) – or willingness to obtain
within 12 monthsDesirable Criteria
* Immunisation for Health Practitioners course or working towardsHow to apply:
