    Good afternoon,

I am new to Anglicare Southern Qld and coordinating the infection control program for Anglicare Southern Queensland and would like to connect with other IPCs who also look after community based services and Aged Care Facilities.
I am wondering if anyone has developed a policy/procedure/care plan for pets in residence in Aged Care facilities (Including cats, birds, dogs, fish and chooks)?

And also, if you’ve addressed the issue of medication administration in RACFs during an outbreak. For example, when RNs have to deliver Drugs across several wings, including a wing in lockdown but with limited DD cupboards?

    Kind regards,

    Chris

    Hi Christine,
I am pretty sure ACIPC has a position statement on pets in healthcare on the website.

    Kind regards,
    Kelly
