Hi all,
Given that we are planning on re-opening the Tasmanian borders to all interstate travellers in early December 2021, I am seeking inputs from others within regions where community COVID-19 transmission is occurring as well as those within regions who have experienced lower levels of COVID-19 activity but are also preparing for their borders to be opened.
The information that we are particularly interested in your Infection Prevention and Control strategies aligned with your COVID testing frameworks to manage COVID within your healthcare settings. The specific questions we have relate to the following:
* Screening on ED presentation
* Screening for hospital inpatient admissions
* “Elective” admissions (including elective surgery, if proceeding)
* “Non-elective” admissions (including transfers from other hospitals)
* ICU admissions
* Screening pre-operatively (excluding those elective procedures above)
* High-risk outpatients e.g. haematology/oncology, renal dialysis* Asymptomatic staff
In addition, we are planning on having a tiered approach to our inpatient wards with dedicated, suspected and non-COVID inpatient wards, and would appreciate inputs from other facilities as to their approaches to patient disposition and their implementation.
I am happy to receive personal communications.
Kind regards
Rachel……………………………………………………………………………..
