    Dear Colleagues,

I have been contacted by a Sydney University colleague, who is currently working in Sierra Leone, on behalf of Jonathan Baker, the Emergency Coordinator and Programme Manager for the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The IOM has recently assumed responsibility for infection control training, a role they took over from the UK military in December, and have so far trained approximately 6,000 healthcare workers and other personnel in Sierra Leone in basic infection control protocols and procedures.

Until now, they been working with a university that has provided assistance with the training, but they are now seeking additional assistance from suitably trained people who might be willing to volunteer their time to go to Sierra Leone to assist. Their need is quite urgent, even though cases have dramatically decreased nationally.

If you are interested please contact Jasmine Riley, IOM Training Coordinator, who has identified a requirement for 2 IPC professionals to rapidly deploy to Freetown and work with their team on the ground (copy to me please, so I dont keep asking once need is met).

Interested candidates can send CVs to Jasmine at jriley@iom.int.

If you need further information, please find below link of the IOM National Ebola Training Academy:

And their facebook page is IOM Sierra Leone.

    Best wishes

    Lyn
