Dear All
I will be grateful for your assistance with a decision on a new ICC pack being developed in our facility.Accodring to all IC principles, guidelines and standards out there what are your views on adding syringes and needles into a pre made sterile pack(that is syringes and needles are out of their original packaging) but sterilised within the pack. The rationale for this is to limit stock outside of the pack as much as possible. I have provided my feedback but would like some other views.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards
Verily Thomas

Hi Verily,
If you remove a sterile single use medical device from its original
packaging you must obtain the manufacturer’s instructions for use for
reprocessing / resterilising that medical device. If you don’t have these
then you could be in breach of the regulatory requirements imposed by the
TGA. See page 265 in the attached link
https://www.tga.gov.au/sites/default/files/devices-argmd-p2.pdfHope this helps.
Kind Regards
