    Hello

Quick question I am being asked why or if it is true that all hydrocollator ‘s were removed from NSW health facility’s . I have not heard this before (I realise that they need to be cleaned, checked etc given the water etc)

If so when and can anyone let me know why?

I know many sites still using them (& many private physios etc have them,) I just spoke with a few so wondering if this is not true or if they have been requested to be removed & I (like a few others perhaps) was just behind the eight ball a bit?

I know NSW has released guidelines around the use around hot & cold pack GL 2005_015 (doing skin checks etc) but this does not say anything about use or no use of hydrocollators.

If your don’t use hydrocollators to provide temperature controlled heat packs then what else do you use that is for ready to use (especially in large scale area/ clinics/ units)…I am not convinced heat via microwave would be a good option !!??

    Thanks for your thoughts/ advice

    Kind Regards

    Lindy
