Hi everyone, hope you are all going ok.
Does anyone know if there a difference in acceptable humidity parameters when storing:
* Items processed in CSD – ie in kimgard and paper packs
* Items processed commercially
I know AS4187 states 35% to 70% for sterile stock storage areas.
Thanks so much everyone.

Hi Pam,
Most commercially produced sterile devices and consumable products usually have indications on the range of temperature and humidity that the packaged product can withstand.
Sometimes this is in excess of the limits in AS/NZS4187, however more often than not, the humidity range in particular may be significantly less, i.e. un upper limit of 60% is not uncommon.
So in other words, the range recommended in AS/NZS4187 is a guide for CSSD produced products, however for commercially sterilised products you need to take into account the conditions specified on the packaging.
Kind Regards
