[Posted on behalf of NSW Health Public Health Bulletin – Moderator]
In 2009, New South Wales Health launched its most intensive public health surveillance, investigation and containment effort in living memory. NSW Health, along with other Australian health authorities and government agencies, had been preparing, with renewed earnest, for such a pandemic since the SARS outbreak of 200203. The articles contained in Vol 21(1&2) 2010 of the New South Wales Public Health Bulletin [www.publish.csiro.au/nid/226/issue/5428.htm] describes how NSW was affected by the pandemic and how the public health services responded to the challenge.
The New South Wales Public Health Bulletin is a peer-reviewed journal produced by the NSW Department of Health. The Bulletin is fully sponsored and all materials therein are freely accessible online.Michael Wishart
