Dear Colleagues,
The NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Nursing Interventions will hold
a 1-day symposium titled: “Skin Integrity; State of the Evidence”. The aim
of this symposium is to promote the use of current best evidence in
clinical practice. It has three streams: pressure injuries, surgical
wounds and intravascular access devices. The symposium will be held at
the Brisbane
Exhibition and Convention Centre on Friday 31 July, 2015 (program attached)There are several sessions of interest to Infection Preventionists.
International invited speakers are:
Dr Steven Gordon (USA) Chairman of the Dept of Infectious Diseases at the
Cleveland Clinic Foundation and President (2011) of the Society of
Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA): “*Beyond bundles – contribution
of surgical site and vascular catheter infection prevention to providing
value and bending the cost curve”*Nancy Moureau (USA) RN Vascular Access Consultant and CEO PICC Excellence
Inc *”Skin colonisation as a risk factor in central line associated
infections”*Prof Dame Nicky Cullum (UK) Coordinating Editor of the Cochrane Wounds
