Dear All,
Registration is now open for the Victorian Antimicrobial Resistance and Stewardship Forum – Thursday 31 October 2019, Ballarat
Safer Care Victoria together with Ballarat Health Services will be hosting the Victorian Antimicrobial Resistance and Stewardship Forum. This One Health themed event is intended to raise awareness of the issues and work being done around antimicrobial resistance and stewardship, and is timed to coincide with World Antibiotic Awareness Week. All human and animal health clinicians, scientists and others with an interest in antimicrobial resistance and stewardship are invited to attend.
Date/time: Thursday 31 October, 2019, from 10am to 4pm
The program will feature speakers including:
– Dr Annaliese van Diemen, Victorian Department of Health and Human Service’s Senior AMR Policy Advisor, ‘Moving towards a One Health AMR strategy for Victoria’
– Dr Cameron Bell, Victorian Chief Veterinary Officer (acting), ‘Antimicrobial resistance and use in the veterinary sector; Victorian perspectives’
– A/Prof Mark Davis, Monash University, ‘Antimicrobial resistance: science, communication and public engagement’
– Dr Raquel Cowan, Infectious Diseases Physician, Ballarat Health Services & Barwon Health, ‘Implementing & sustaining a sepsis pathway in a regional hospital’
– Alicia Neels, AMS Pharmacist, Barwon Health, ‘A regional centre’s perspective on antimicrobial stewardship in general practice’
– Dr Charlie Corke, Intensivist, Barwon Health, ‘AMS in end of life care’
– And more – finalised program to be circulated in the coming weeks.
Places are limited, so book early to avoid missing out. Note however that there is an option available for those who cannot attend in person to register for a live webcast of the forum.
