2018 SHEA International Ambassadors Program Application Deadline is November 30th!
Applications are now being accepted until Thursday, November 30, 2017
The International Ambassadors Program (IAP) is celebrating its ninth year of building collaborative relationships between U.S. and international experts in healthcare epidemiology and infection prevention. Since 2009, SHEA has partnered with 3M under the auspices of the IAP to promote leaders in the international community dedicated to the advancement of best practices in infection prevention and antibiotic stewardship. The IAP encourages passion for science, professional growth, and lifelong learning on a global scale.
The IAP seeks candidates from outside the U.S. with 5 – 20 years of experience in the field. All ambassadors selected from a competitive pool of candidates will attend the SHEA Spring 2018 Conference in Portland, Oregon April 18-20 for training and will receive a one-year complimentary SHEA membership. A total of 18 Ambassadors will be selected in 2018 and will receive a $3,000 travel award to help cover the cost of attending the SHEA 2018 Spring Conference. Winners will also be introduced to new opportunities for networking, access to SHEA’s journal, Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology, and other educational opportunities. Applicants from emerging economies will be given higher priority over developed international communities during the selection process.
To date, over 430 applicants from around the world have sought a place in this elite group. SHEA has welcomed 116 ambassadors representing forty-seven countries Argentina, Australia, Bangladesh, Barbados, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, Egypt, England, Ethiopia, Ghana, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Korea, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Morocco, Namibia, Nepal, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Singapore, South Africa, Sudan, Thailand, Togo, United Kingdom, and Vietnam).
