    APPLICATIONS SOUGHT for REPRESENTATIVES:
    NATIONAL CONSULTATIVE STEERING COMMITTEE
    Dear Colleagues,
    AICA is seeking applications for a newly formed consultative steering committee (CSC) established to guide
    AICA through a critical period of review and potential restructure.
    The overall aims of the CSC are to:
    -Work in partnership and as directed with AICAs solicitors Moore’s Legal
    -Consult with the AICA Executive and State and Territory Executives
    -Identify and make recommendations to manage potential barriers for organisational restructure
    -Canvass the opinions of local peers working in Infection Control
    -Act as an advocate for change as appropriate
    -Identify limitations in the current structure and rules of the organisation and assist in the provision of a framework for review of AICA’s current structure and function
    – To communicate clear and concise messages to key opinion leaders in the Australian Infection Control community.
    -Identify and consult with recognised International bodies who may be interested in forming a partnership with the new body in the future
    -Steer the Association through changes to the structure
    -Propose a new model for a new national entity
    Key attributes:
    Applications are invited from senior infection control consultants who are identified as leaders by their peers
    and are motivated to improve professional standards for ICPs.
    Representatives from all States/Territories are welcome.
    Essential criteria:
    Applications will be assessed against the following selection criteria:
    -Current financial members of AICA
    -A good understanding of infection control issues in Australia and the current infection control environment
    -Experience in change management or organisational redesign
    -Ability to apply critical and broad perspective thinking
    -Excellent and professional profile and reputation
    Desirable Criteria:
    -Hold AICA infection control credentials (CICP)
    -Actively engaged in the promotion of AICA Credentialing and other activities of the Association as a whole.
    – Has served as a member of the Executive either at a State or National level
    -A member of an Australian accredited tertiary provider of education either in a fulltime, part time or sessional capacity
    Who can apply?
    -Financial members of the Australian State/Territory infection control organisations listed on the http://www.aica.org.au website that have reasonable years of experience in the field of infection control.
    -Participants must be able to participate in at least 75% of the scheduled meetings (held twice a month). Meetings will take place via video or teleconference and face-to-face meetings if required and approved by the AICA Executive
    -Applicants MUST not be a member of the current AICA Executive.
    How to apply?
    Interested applicants are invited to submit a written application to AICA. The application must:
    -Address all of the above selection criteria; and,
    -Include a current short a statement regarding their commitment to AICA and the proposed process for organisational redesign
    -Address the application to, President, Australian Infection Control Association
    -Include at least one referee
    Lodgement of applications:
    Applications must be submitted electronically by 5.00pm (EST), on Friday 24th September 2010 via the AICA
