Hi All,
I know there has been some discussion about the evidence for CHG Gel
impregnated dressings for CVCs in the infection control community.
For those interested in this area the updated UK “epic3: revised
recommendation for intravenous catheter and catheter site care” now states
the following:
. “Consider the use of a 2% chlorhexidine-impregnated sponge or gel
dressings in adult patients with a central venous catheter as a strategy to
reduce catheter-related bloodstream infection”.
The attached document includes a revised evidence summary which may be
useful.
Regards
